Using Sync.SmartSimple.org

In order to implement the data exchange feature, you need access to at least two instances of SmartSimple. In this article, you will access a second instance specifically provided to customers to test these synchronisation features.

You will now create the details of this instance in your UTA.

1. Click the View Settings tab.

The Settings page is displayed.

2. Scroll to the Exchange Settings section.

The Exchange Settings section is displayed.

There are four parts to the Exchange Settings section.

  • Sending To List - Defines the instances that you can send UTA data to. For each entry you will need to generate and provide an encryption key to that instance.
  • Receiving From List - Defines the instances that you can receive data from. For each entry you will need to receive an encryption key from that instances.
  • Activity/Export List View - Defines the fields that you wish to see in the Export List.
  • Exported Packages - Displays a list of all packages that have been exported.

3. Click on the Sending To List:

The current list of recipient copies is blank.

4. Click the New Sending To tab.

Exchange Configuration Settings Page

The Exchange Configuration screen is displayed. This page is broken into four sections.

  • Sending To Settings – defines the details of the receiving instance.

  • Company & People Export Settings – defines if related contact information should be transferred as well as UTA information.

  • Key Settings – used to generate the key to be used by the receiving instance.

  • Export Information – a set of tabs used to determine the Level 1, 2 and 3 UTA field level data plus company, contact and role field level data.

Setting Sending to Settings

Next you will set the Sending to details. The following settings are required for each organisation that you will be sending information:

  • Alias - Use Alias of the receiving instance.
  • Id - Arbitrary two digit number unique to receiving instance.
  • Description - Type full company name of the receiving instance.
  • Post URL - Type full URL of receiving instance including http://.
  • Export Workflow - The workflow to be executed when the package is exported.
