All email addresses in SmartSimple are linked to the Message Center, and your public and private templates.

You can send emails from any application, the internal or external people view, your contact list, or your activities list.

When you click on an email address the message center will be displayed, and you can compose a message or select from any predefined message templates to send an email to the contact.

1. Select the Communications, Contacts menu.

Your contact list is displayed,

2. Click on any contact email address.

The Message Center is displayed.

The message center contains the following options:

  • Template List - A list of predefined message templates that you can use for your email.
  • Send By - You can choose to send message either by email; or for internal users, you can use the Quick Message feature of SmartSimple.
  • Compose - Start a new message based on the selected template. If no template is selected, you will start with a blank message.
  • Preview - Display the template in the bottom panel of the Message Center window.
  • Close - Close the Message Center.

The Template you just added is the default message – an empty template.

The signature template is not displayed – it will be automatically added to the end of every message.

Using Signature Variables

You can create more complex templates that use variables. These variables are used to create fully automated emails where details of the recipient and sender are dynamically added to the message.

For example, the variable: @firstname@ in a template would be replaced with the first name of the recipient.
